Nestlé to centralise IT centres
Nestlé, the world's biggest consumer food company, is planning to centralise its information technology centres around the world into just five data centres as part of a plan to cut costs by $1.8bn over the next five years.
IBM announced on Wednesday that it had won a $500m contract to provide the information technology backbone for Nestlé's Globe project, short for Global Business Excellence, the biggest reorganisation in the group's 135-year history.
